In the digital age, underground artists struggle for exposure, and album cover art has lost its cultural impact. This disconnect has made it harder for emerging talent to gain recognition.
Street Covers, a Mixmag-led, social-first campaign in collaboration with Vuse, DJ Anfisa Letyago, and artist Brian Cannon, brought together underground musicians and visual artists across Dubai, Barcelona, Medellín, Johannesburg, and Liverpool. The campaign amplified each collaboration across social platforms through behind-the-scenes content, live drops, and artist takeovers, engaging a global audience in real-time. Street Covers puts underground talent on a global stage, bridging music and visual art while celebrating each city's creative culture. By championing independent artists and driving conversation through social, the campaign gave them new exposure and reinforced Mixmag’s commitment to pushing culture forward.
